Harold And Kumar Party Scene

KATHODIK

Nembrot ‘Nembrot’

(Officine Frog 2008)

Nowadays it is rather difficult to come across a disc of industrial / noise that is interesting - and this especially in Italian: the impression is that the genre in question is now reduced to a mere jumble of stereotypes sound, since many musicians are limited to manipulating the sound of guitars, play any instrument unusual stuff sounds of the scores of the most disparate origins and mix it all more or less at random, with no planning background.
This is not the case, fortunately, the Neapolitans Nimrod. Pasquale "pako-P" Pierno (guitars and interpretations), Cassataro Gregory (guitars and sound elements) and Carmine Morelli (drums and percussion "Nimrod"), active on the music scene since 2001, have created an album of "experimental avant-noise" (the definition to them) capable of not only not boring, but to surprise the listener for its entire duration.
The power of Nimrod lies in their ability to mix references to the international stage noise-rock, industrial and kraut in long compositions in which improvisation and structure are perfectly balanced. Tracks such as Insane , the loot of the cowardly (a hellish maelstrom of sound and alienating ultradistorti enhanced by a recited text with great enthusiasm by increasing Pierno) third, untitled track that alternates between a first part dedicated sound of hysteria and a second dominated by a pounding running post-industrial; and again: the trilogy of Claustrophobia ( pt. 1, pt. 2, pt. 3), ideal bridge link between the industrial research / noisy and minimalist-style kraut side Can and the frenzied crescendo (with lots of screaming incoherent) of Unconditional Surrender represent a real breath of fresh air in this genre.
last remark: the disc is available for download free on site Officine Frog , www.officinefrog.it.
